BE Carried

Cultivating Nourishment for the Soul

Welcome to Be Carried!  I’m Bernadette, creator of Be Carried and I would like to invite you on a journey of self-exploration.  Be Carried is a full service nonprofit that focuses on girls and young women who have experienced trauma.  Like them, I too have experienced trauma and it has taken me years to pull back the layers to discover who I am at my core.  Flaws and all, I love who I am.  But, I invite you on this journey with me as I continue to work on my deficiencies in an effort to help a girl or young woman eliminate some of the unnecessary missteps that life may throw your way.

Who We Are

A Sisterhood that Carries Us Forward in Growth

Here at BE Carried, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2021, we have been determined to make an impact. Helping young women and girls of color experience a breakthrough is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality resources to our community in a safe and secure environment. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to those young women and girls in our care. The core of our efforts is to bring together our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the passion and goals of the young women and girls we serve. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs in an effort to support the future leaders of tomorrow.

What We Do

Getting Carried Away

We cannot have what we're not willing to become. Our aspirations must align and lift us vibrationally.  Once we accept and release that we may not get what we thought we would get when we started, the universe will give us what we desire.  It's the concept that we can be as fruitful as we want wherever we're planted and we will be okay.  Our methods utilize specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely (SMART) goals to help every participant grow.

Advocacy

How Does Your Garden Grow?

With BE Carried’s mission in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with everyday challenges. Advocacy is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact within the community.  Through arts and education, we hope to curtail small problems from becoming bigger issues by broadening the minds of future leaders with the hopes of creating critical thinkers.  Contact us to learn more about our commitment to this cause.

Support

Grow Where You're Planted

Post pandemic, the world shifted in many ways.  People got quieter, but the noises that surrounds us got extremely loud.  The chirping of birds seemed clearer, the barks of dogs got a little louder, and the once mundane rustling of the wind swaying through trees became a welcoming sound. People were forced to sit with themselves and become introspective.  In doing so, we had to decide if we like who we are or who we’ve become.  Hence, decisions needed to be made on where do we go from here.  Grow where you’re planted is a support group that helps individuals figure out how to get things done when you don’t feel like doing anything by means of curated picnics.  The group aims to breaks down barriers that are keeping individuals from making progress; small bites at a time.

Knowledge is Power

Be carried into another possibility for your life

With this initiative, our goal is to help individuals think outside of their norm to gain different perspectives through various discussions on books we’ve read or heard via audible.  With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential.
